Winchelsea Wholefoods

Winchelsea Wholefoods opened its doors in December 2018 and since then, has been welcomed by locals who fully embrace a packaging-free shopping experience.

The inspiration behind the idea

Sarah Main and partner, Chad, opened Winchelsea Wholefoods in December 2018. They enjoyed living in Winchelsea, but found themselves still doing the majority of their shopping in Geelong. A space soon became available on Main Street, Winchelsea, and they jumped on it.

What is unique about Winchelsea Wholefoods?

They are passionate about showcasing the best products of the region and love chatting to the local makers and growers as they hand deliver their goods. But to Winchelsea Wholefoods, it’s ultimately about more than just a great product. Their stockists are passionate about what they do and are all conscious of their impact on the environment. They have a wealth of knowledge and are willing to share this information to educate us and inspire the next generation.

What you might not know about them

Over the years they watched the development of land between Geelong and Torquay closely. With stage one for the Armstrong Creek Town Centre under construction and Winchelsea Wholefoods operating successfully, by March 2022 they had opened their second store in the Armstrong Creek Shopping Centre. Sarah Main’s sister-in-law, Sarah Overton, is the smiling face you will see managing both locations, as Sarah continues to work remotely from South Australia and visits frequently.
