Does French Earl Grey tea contain caffeine?

Our French Earl Grey tea does contain caffeine, as with all Camellia Sinensis teas such as black, green, oolong and white tea. As French Earl Grey is a black tea it does have a relatively high caffeine content, far less than what is found in coffee, but more than what is in oolong, green or white teas. If you are sensitive to caffeine, we recommend enjoying them in the first half of the day, to avoid becoming overstimulated at the end of the day, and allowing the body to adequately metabolise the caffeine before sleep.

What is in our French Earl Grey tea?

In a unique take on a traditional favourite, this combination of Ceylon black tea and floral petals is perfectly complemented by refreshing citrus tones of bergamot essential oil.
These ingredients have been carefully hand blended and then left to sit, allowing the natural oils to delicately infuse together. With subtly sweet and floral tones, this is a pleasant and distinctive earl grey option. All of the ingredients in our French Earl Grey are gluten free, and vegan friendly.

Our ingredients for this blend are sourced from Sri Lanka, India and Italy – and hand packed with care, by us, in Victoria, Australia.

What is our packaging made from?

The clear pouch that holds our French Earl Grey is not made from plastic. It is made from a renewable plant-based cellophane, which can also easily be home composted and will break down in a few short months if composted correctly.

The cardboard is made from post-consumer recycled board, is printed with vegetable-based inks and can also be home composted after use where it will break down in a few short months if composted correctly.

Our pyramid tea bags are also not made from plastic. They are made from a biodegradable, non-GMO, plant-based material called Soilon, which meets all compostability standards in Japan, North America and Europe. However it is important to note, they will definitely take longer than other compost items to decompose. The material manufacturers recommend commercial composting as a quicker alternative to address this longer time of breakdown.

If you are looking for the most environmentally friendly option, we will always recommend drinking loose leaf tea.
