Our ingredients for this blend are sourced from Peru, Sri Lanka and Pakistan – and hand packed with care, by us, in Victoria, Australia.
Cacao (Theobroma Cacao) – Theobroma cacao is native to Peru and is more commonly known as cacao. It is rich in antioxidants, amino acids and minerals, particularly magnesium. It has long been enjoyed for its nutrient content, taste and health benefits.
Maca (Lepidium Meyenii) – Also native to Peru, this nutrient rich vegetable is high in minerals and antioxidants, offering adaptogen qualities, long used to help the body better cope with stress.
The simplest way to brew this product is per below.
Add a teaspoon of the powder to a cup and add 50ml of boiling water, stirring to dissolve. Fill the cup with heated milk of your choice, stirring to combine. Sweeten further if desired. However, you could also prepare this in a pot on the stove if you were making multiple cups, or alternatively on an espresso machine by steaming the milk. For iced Cacao and Maca, simply use cold milk and pour over ice.
Maca is a vegetable that does not contain caffeine. Cacao does contain caffeine, however its caffeine content is significantly less than what is found in coffee or black tea. If you are sensitive to caffeine, we recommend enjoying it in the first half of the day, to avoid becoming overstimulated at the end of the day, and allowing the body time to adequately metabolise the caffeine before sleep.
The clear pouch that holds our Cacao and Maca is not made from plastic. It is made from a renewable plant-based cellophane, which can also easily be home composted and will break down in a few short months if composted correctly.
The cardboard is made from post-consumer recycled board, is printed with vegetable-based inks and can also be home composted after use where it will break down in a few short months if composted correctly.
