Reflecting on the four seasons, it has reminded us that spring, quite possibly more than any other season, is filled with such an abundance of renewed optimism. As many plants start to blossom and generate new growth, the animals are alive with energy as they collect food, make nests and prepare to welcome their young into the world. We find this change in season and renewed optimism a welcome reprieve from winter and a reason to celebrate all life on this planet including our very existence. We would also like to share the tea we like to drink this time of year.

- Pyramid Tea BagsLove Tea organic pyramid tea bags Our pyramid tea bags are made from a plant starch biodegradable mesh. The material we use for these bags is called “Soilon”, which is produced in Japan and has met all compostability standards in Japan, North America and Europe. We have personally tested the biodegradability in our own home compost and found that they break down well in our good, warm, composting environment. The bags are then sealed via ultrasonic sealing, so there is no glue used on the bags or the tags.

We pay fair trade premiums for the ingredients purchased from fair trade farms and continually strive to learn more about the challenges that the producers face in their local regions. We value the relationships we have with growing communities and as part of our commitment to being a fair trade supplier we have recently introduced the option to shop by ‘fair trade’ as a separate category.
