Sencha is a traditional Japanese tea, which in English translates to “infused tea”. It is by far the most common type of tea consumed in Japan. Over hundreds of years, they have perfected the art of growing, steaming and processing tea to result in all grades of Japanese Sencha having a delightfully unique flavour. Delicately sweet, vegetal and slightly buttery, sencha tea has a beautiful flavour profile that reflects the precise and artful crafting that has been perfected by Japanese tea masters.
Place a heaped teaspoon (2.5 grams) of tea per cup (250ml) into a teapot or infuser, add filtered water at 70ºc-80ºc and allow to infuse for 3 – 4 minutes, strain the tea and serve.
