Sri Lanka Tragedy 2019

We are sure most of you are aware of the horrific events that took place across Sri Lanka over Easter, but we wanted to express our deepest empathy to all the communities that are affected by these terrible events.

As a company, we have been working with communities in Sri Lanka for over 10 years. They have been wonderful hosts, they have had us as guests stay in their homes and eat with their families. Over the many different times, we have visited their beautiful country, we developed a love for their culture and have been inspired by the caring nature of their people. As with many of these tragic events, they are inflicted by a small group of troubled people and don’t, in any way, represent the beliefs of the wider community.

It is in times like these that we need to understand that we are all human beings, no matter where we come from. We are all mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters and brothers. It is more important than ever that we show our love, support and understanding to other human beings who share the planet with us.

We have decided to donate 100% of online sales from the 24th and 25th of April 2019 to the Sri Lankan Red Cross society in our support*.

“If we want to make sure globally that we are a safe and tolerant and inclusive world we cannot think about this in terms of boundaries.” Jacinda Ardern.

With love, and support,
Damien, Emma and the team at Love Tea.

*Please note we raised $4201.90 from the sales on the 24th and 25th of April 2o19, this was then donated to the Sri Lankan Red Cross.
